Overview
This article explains why the option to run a test case might not be visible after it has been created or when viewing it in a project. If you cannot find the 'Run' button, it is typically related to your user permissions within that specific project.
How It Works
The ability to perform actions in Functionize, such as executing a test, is determined by the access level assigned to your user account for a particular project. If your account has 'Viewer' permissions, you can open and review test cases, but you will not have the ability to run them. The 'Run' option is intentionally hidden for users with this level of access.
To resolve this, you must contact your organization's site administrator and request an update to your access level. Roles with execution privileges include:
- Editor
- Tester
Once your site administrator grants you the appropriate permissions, the 'Run' option will become visible, and you will be able to execute test cases as needed.
Limitations
Users cannot change their own access levels. Permission management is controlled exclusively by site administrators within your organization. You must contact them directly to request any changes to your project access.
