Downloading the Original Data Source File in TDM

Overview

 

This document outlines the process for downloading the original source file for a dataset within the TDM platform. By default, all files are downloaded as .csv. The instructions below allows users to access the file in its originally uploaded format.

 

 

Steps to Download the Original Data Source

Follow these steps to successfully download the file in its original format:

  1. Access the Dataset: Open the TDM platform and navigate to the desired dataset.

  2. Initiate Download: Locate and click the Download button in the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Select Option: From the dropdown menu, select Download Original Data Source.

  4. Verification: Once the download is complete, open the file to verify that the format is the expected .xlsx (or the dataset's original format).

Expected Behavior

Selecting the "Download Original Data Source" option must always download the file in its initial format.

  • For this dataset: The expected download format is Excel (.xlsx), not .csv.

 

Limitations

By default, downloading a dataset from TDM will result in a .csv file. To obtain the file in its original uploaded format (e.g., .xlsx), you must specifically use the Download Original Data Source option.
